THE BANBURY RUN AUTOJUMBLE

There has been an autojumble at The Banbury Run for most of the event’s history. In the VMCC’s early years, before specialist magazines and the internet, it was one of the few places where those with project bikes or parts to sell could meet people interested in older machines. Times have moved on and there are now many much larger autojumbles, but “Banbury” has continued to be something special and a bit different. It’s maybe not right for cheap new tools or polishing rags, but if you are offering parts like pre-war gearboxes, mudguards and magnetos, there’s an excellent chance of potential buyers.

The autojumble takes place on part of the tarmacked car park for the museum at Gaydon, and a pitch consists of two normal-size car parking bays. Autojumblers can arrive from 12 noon on Saturday 6th June. Set up is from 7am-9am on Sunday 7th June. The site opens to the public at 9am, but riders and event volunteers are around long before that. The event winds down around 4pm, and everyone has to be off site by 6pm.

A pitch cost £35 and consists of two normal-size car parking bays. On request these can be two in-line or two side-by-side, depending on how you would prefer to fit your van into your pitch. A booking for one pitch includes a vehicle pass and two admission wristbands. Two pitches includes a vehicle pass and three wristbands. Three pitches includes two vehicle passes and four wristbands.

All those booking space in the autojumble are welcome to camp (in your van, on your pitch) on Saturday night - overnight campers must arrive by 8pm.You can also book and pay to stay in the museum’s camping area on the Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday nights, and buy additional site admission wristbands, by telephoning the museum on 01926 895295.

Pre-booking enquiries can be made to banbury@vmcc.net.Bookings close on Sunday 31st May 2026, and final instructions and passes will be posted out by 1st June 2026. To download the autojumble booking form, click here.

VMCC Members – Get Some Cash for your Stash

This is a special arrangement available only to VMCC members who do not regularly sell at autojumbles.

Many VMCC members have sometimes-considerable quantities of parts for older machines which are just gathering dust in storage. And what about the items of workshop equipment, tools and motorcycling accessories we no longer use, or the incomplete project bikes we’re never going to get round to rebuilding but which are not worth sending to auction? Isn’t it time to have a clear-out, bring it all to Banbury, and Get Some Cash for your Stash? The Club is very keen to encourage this so that useful things can see the light of day again and be passed on to those who want them. The main focus of The Banbury Run autojumble is pre-1960, but that covers a lot. If you have enough to fill an autojumble pitch on your own, or can arrange to do so with a friend, please go ahead and book an autojumble pitch using the link above.

However, if you don’t have enough to sell yourself to fill a pitch, how about sharing one with another member in the same position? Two members sharing a pitch will each pay £17.50 – half the pitch fee. For this each of you will get one admission wristband to the Gaydon site, the opportunity to camp in your vehicle on your pitch on Saturday night, and one vehicle pass.

There isn’t room in two car park bays for two vehicles as well as laying out the items two people have brought for sale, so after you have unloaded on the Sunday morning we will need one or both vehicles to be moved a short distance to the main car park until the time comes to pack up.

If this sounds interesting, complete and send in the form you can download below and the autojumble organisers will match you up with someone else who would also like to share a pitch. In the unlikely event that we can’t match you up with someone, your money will be refunded.
